Meal Plans 101

Having a meal plan means more than just convenience - it's your key to enjoying craveable meals across campus. With chef-inspired menus, local ingredients, and sustainable practices, your dining experience is as dynamic as campus life.

What is a Meal Plan?

A Meal Plan unlocks delicious meals, coffee, snacks, and more, at 30 locations across campus. Your Meal Plan includes Meal Swipes, Flex/Ole Miss Express and/or Dining Dollars, conveniently loaded onto your student ID. No need to carry additional cards or cash!

Meal Swipes

Weekly meal swipes give you a set number of meals to use each week across campus. Each swipe covers: One full entry into any all-you-care-to-eat dining hall, or $8.50 in value at national brands, cafés, or food trucks.

Weekly meal swipes and Plus 1 swipes can be used during the week, without rollover, at ANY Ole Miss Dining location for use towards $8.50 worth of prepared menu items. Weekly meal swipes expire each week on Sunday at 2:00 am. Plus 1 swipes expire each day at 2:00 am. Go over your $8.50? Put it on Flex! See below.

Flex and Ole Miss Express

The Flex Dollar program is a declining balance linked to your student ID, and designed to supplement students' meal plans. All students start with $350. If your total at an on campus restaurant goes over the $8.50 meal swipe amount, the remaining balance will pull from your Flex account. Flex Dollars can be also used at food locations on campus including restaurants, vending machines, coffee shops, convenience stores, Starship Robots, food trucks, concessions at Ole Miss sporting events, and the off campus Papa Johns. All undergraduate students under the age of 25 who are taking 9 hours or more of in person classes will automatically be assessed Flex Dollars and they will roll over from semester to semester, year to year.

Ole Miss Express is a prepaid, stored-value/debit account also linked to your University of Mississippi ID card that you can deposit into at any time. Everyone starts with a zero dollar balance, which you can choose to deposit funds at any time during the semester.  Once funded, simply swipe your Ole Miss ID card as a method of payment. Ole Miss Express is used for things like laundry in the residence halls, printing in the Library, and for items at the Ole Miss Bookstore.
Think "F" as in Flex, is for food, and "E" as in Express, is for everything else!

Managing Your Plan

Easy Ways to Check Your Meal Plan Balance:

  • On the GETapp. Login using your MyOleMiss login credentials.
  • On your receipt after a purchase at any dining location.
  • Visit the ID Center in 155 Johnson Commons West, open Monday-Friday 8:15 A.M. – 4:45 P.M.

Meal Plan Benefits

  • It costs less when you use a meal swipe!  Meal swipes are tax-exempt, so the taxes are removed from the total when you swipe your card.  When you pay with Flex, you pay the full amount.
  • Meal swipes work at all dining locations- including food trucks!
  • You can save your time, money, energy and parking spot!
  • Grubhub is now campus wide so you can skip the line and order ahead.
  • Starship Delivery accepts meal swipes!  You can order through Grubhub!

When can I use my meal plan?

Meal plans always begin the Friday before classes start for the semester and end the Saturday after final exams.  They work 7 days a week for the entire semester.
